PROBLEM: Everything is now digital.

And even if you are in the path of Stoicism detaching yourself from things material, pleasurable, vicious, worldly and earthly impure, you need still to use your cellphone service provider to give you access to information, books of Stoicism, and letters of Seneca to achieve your goal. 

Unless you're a hypocrite. So how can you detach yourself from materialism but still use material things? Will you be a hypocrite?

ANSWER: Moderation. 

As Nassim Taleb would put it, one needs media to destroy toxic media. To survive one has to be both, like a person who kills animals for food and keeps animals for pets. The only ethical way to do this without being hypocritical is to accept that ethics is not universal. What applies to a small scale doesn't work in large scale. This explains the saying: There is even honor among thieves.

To achieve moderation, accept that a little poison is helpful, the same way that radiation in chemotherapy is a poison but it turns out to be helpful and healthy. Same with vaccines. Your body is introduced to viruses and germs intentionally to make you stronger. Get the idea?
