CEBU. The Cebu International Film Festival (Cebu.IFF) announces its 8th edition this week with the theme, Celebrating 100 years of Philippine Cinema. According to Festival Director, Peachy Fajatin, Cebu.IFF will be screening over 100 films in competition under the full length and short films categories (International), short films (Philippines Focus), animation and student films category.
With the mission to strengthen the local film industry, and drive the objective of making Cebu.IFF another economic driver for Cebu, Cebu.IFF will be screening over 50 film entries from 15 countries including the Philippines. In the Philippine Focus, it will screen student entries in competition.

The jury is composed of seasoned film makers: Takuya Fukushima, multi-awarded director from Japan and Cebu.IFF 2018 winner; Crispo Mojica, Cebu.IFF board member and program director of Film & Broadcast Arts, IIBFA; Butch Nolasco, a multi-awarded director based in Manila and Emot Amodia, founder of Cebu Animation Guild.


Other highlights of the Festival include two talks at USC-SAFAD, Talamban Campus on September 25, 2019 - Setting up your Animation Studio with No Capital by Emot Amodia and Film Storytelling lecture and Workshop -Ideas into Action by director, Crispo Mojica.

Cebu.IFF will also be conducting the Pitch Workshop on September 25 at the Creative Hub of USC-SAFAD to be followed by the Pitch Market at Dolce Cafe, Nivel Hills on September 26, 2019 with Cebu.IFF president Mel Allego and Singapore-based producer as moderators. The Festival will culminate with the Awards Ceremony on September 27 at the USC-SAFAD Theatre.
